Why was the Duane Reade Diabetes Resource Center established?
As the number of individuals with diabetes in the New York metropolitan area is reaching epidemic levels, healthcare providers need to collaborate to adequately educate those affected. Recognizing this need, Duane Reade established the Diabetes Resource Center to provide a comprehensive facility for individuals with diabetes and their families to obtain education, training, medications, and diabetes supplies in one location.

The Diabetes Resource Center provides free diabetes self-management education, support groups, scheduled appointments and walk-in services for achieving
successful health-related outcomes.
Who is eligible?
The educational classes are administered in 2-hour sessions, meeting each week for 5 weeks. Registration is required.

The Center is open to the general public. An individual does not have to be a Duane Reade customer to obtain services or attend the classes.
