In an effort to limit the number of plastic bags that we use in our stores and thereby to help New York City and the environment, Duane Reade is launching 2 eco-totes for Earth Month. One for 99 cents and the "Use it, don't abuse it!" eco-tote designed by Alvin Valley, labeled the "King of Pants" by CNN news anchor, Anderson Cooper. A portion of the sales from the "Use it, don't abuse it!" bag will be donated to the Stevenson Green Roof Project, a proposal by public- private partnership to bring new opportunities for learning and stewardship to the Bronx.

Furthermore, from Earth Day, April 22, 2008 until May 31, 2008, we are giving 5 bonus points per customer per purchase when you use a Duane Reade eco-tote instead of a plastic bag!
