Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Strategic Analysis: Leads use of analytical tools (Business Objects/ Excel/ Access) within assigned business unit. Enables pharmacy management to incorporate these analytical tools into daily management and outcome probabilities and projections.

·         Business Analysis: Analyzes and evaluates weekly drug results, focusing specifically on sales and gross margin by business segment. Reviews results with pharmacy managers highlighting wins and presenting recommendations for business improvement. Maintains performance by monitoring systems and processes.

·         Financial Acumen: Develops and maintains business analysis highlighting financial impact of business strategies within the assigned business unit. Communicates financial scenarios to management, as well as executive and finance groups.

·         Business Planning: Serves as key architect of periodic drug segment and/or category review process. Develops financial models for scenario-planning based on in-depth analyses to aid in management decision-making

·         Competitive Analysis: Monitors competitive tactics to ensure alignment with business unit and category business needs. Constantly seeks out sales, margin and sales improvement or win back opportunities through use of data queries and financial model, scenario planning.

·         Analytical Lead: Serves as a resident expert on the category, the market, and the consumer by employing analytical tools and processes within assigned business unit.

 Education and Experience:

·         Bachelor's degree in business administration, mathematics, statistics or equivalent. MBA preferred.

·         Experience: 3-6 years of experience in product and/or business analysis.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         Duane Reade seeks a self-motivated and energetic individual who wants to advance based on contributions to the growth of a retail business.

·         Strong proficiency in Business Objects, MS-Excel and Access is a must. Must understand and be proficient at database queries, report writing, scorecard metrics and forecasting.

·         Abilities: Excellent knowledge and understanding of financial, marketing and pharmacy concepts.

·         Ability to gather, analyze and interpret business and financial information in a clear and concise manner in order to develop, recommend, and implement solutions.

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·         Knowledge of data warehousing and PDX pharmacy operating systems a plus.
