TITLE: Regional Loss Prevention Manager
DEPARTMENT: Loss Prevention
REPORTS TO: VP of Asset Protection
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervisor a team of plain clothes personnel including investigators and store detectives.
- Interview prospective candidates and make hiring recommendations.
- Provide training for them in all related Duane Reade policies and procedures as well as departmental procedures and paperwork.
- Ensure they completely understand all local and state laws and Duane Reade policies relevant to their job description. (I.e. rules of apprehension, detention, use of force, chain of evidence, court testimony, Employee Rules of Conduct and sensitivity to union issues, etc.)
- Set weekly schedules to maximize their shoplifter apprehension efforts in select ‘High Shrink’ and ‘High Risk’ stores. These schedules are to include late nights and weekend coverage within the budgetary guidelines provided.
- Provide adequate supervision to ensure the above schedule is being followed and audit time keeping weekly.
- Review all reports and case paperwork before submission to corporate office.
- Ensure that the quality of the guard service being provide in each location is adequate and in keeping with the standards set forth by Duane Reade.
- Provide training to store management so as to maximize the effectiveness of the guard service.
- Act as liaison between the managers and the guard company to resolve problems of inadequate training, appearance, attendance and performance.
- Ensure that the guard company’s supervisors are routinely visiting the stores and meeting with management to review guard performance issues.
- Develop and maintain liaison with the local police precincts.
- Develop sources within stores to gather information related to potential internal (employee) theft.
- Working under the direction and supervision of the Vice President Asset Protection, conduct internal investigations.
- Routinely perform Security Standards Inspections during store visits. Said Inspections to include:
ü Cash controls; including pull and drop procedures, manager’s office and safe security, etc.
ü EAS tagging compliance and equipment performance
ü CCTV system performance
ü Showcase and pharmacy security
ü Register key controls
ü Loss Prevention paperwork
ü Any other aspects of store operations as directed.
ü Perform weekly review of all incident reports from their designated stores to insure completeness and detect patterns of activity.
Experience and Requirements:
- A minimum of five years experience in multi store loss prevention management including supervision of subordinates.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Strong investigative and interviewing skills.
- A valid NY or NJ driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Must live in the immediate NYC metropolitan area.
